Looked at desired development along Lake Street from 36th Avenue to the River; envisioned reinforcing existing commercial nodes and encouraging higher-density residential or mixed use development, particularly at the River and in-fill development that could consolidate outdated commercial-retail uses, such as the two Super America stations and numerous used car lots; moderating Lake Street’s auto-oriented use to accommodate more walking and biking while also greening the street were also priorities.
